Drowning in Data - Development of a Smarter Order Verification Report for Pharmacists
1.0 credit hour (0.1 CEU), UAN: 0025-9999-17-038-L05-P (Knowledge)
With the use of electronic health records (EHR), pharmacists have access to unprecedented amounts of clinical data. At the same time, they are often under extreme pressure to verify orders and check dispenses in a timely manner. Development of tools to contextually present the right clinical data at the right time is necessary to ensure pharmacists are empowered to make clinical interventions and keep patients safe and provided with optimal care. This presentation will describe the development of a conditional report used by pharmacists during inpatient order verification to present clinical data based on patient and order factors.
